Buried by sand from recent storm

The recent storm has blown sand to the south causing everything in the way to fill with sand. Just some park benches being buried by the sand. Till next time ~Peace~

Devils slide

Yesterday we had a fun day in the Dunes. The kids enjoyed sliding down Devils Slide.  There wasn't much snow, but the sand was frozen solid witch made it a lot easier walking up. They had a lot of fun.

Total lunar eclipse

The first Total Lunar Eclipse on the winter solstice since 1638 and only the second in 2,010 years wowed stargazers in North America. The lunar eclipse started on Dec. 20 and lasted a few hours into the wee morning hours of the winter solstice Dec. 21.
If the weather was clear, people could see the moon gradually darken and even turn a reddish-coppery color as some light reached the moon thanks to sunbeams going around the edges of the earth. The next time a lunar eclipse happens on the winter solstice is in 2094. The last time North America saw aTotal Lunar Eclipse was in February 2008.

Shelf ice has started to take form on lake michigan.

I made a visit to the lake front yesterday.  The ice shelf started that means it is officially winter here on the Lake.  It already feels like winter has been here for sometime already.  Brrrrr
Till next time ~Peace~
In the United States and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of the winter season is the day of the year when the Sun is farthest south (on December 21st or 22nd). This day is known as the Winter Solstice.

A very interesting 36 hours

I have had a interesting 36 hours. Started out with a snow storm, then my Internet provider crashed in the states of Indiana and Michigan. So I have had no Internet to this big world.  LOL! I find life without the internet to be very difficult, but I survived.  Then at 10:30 am I had a big loud noise that shook my home. That turned out to be a gas line explosion.  My front road has been closed due to a bridge construction about 75 yards from my house. The crane operator dropped the crane in the creek and fell on top of the main gas line and it exploded.   So we were told to leave our home until it was contained, which took most of the day. All I could think of is if the house was safe. When we returned hours later it was fine thank God. In the photo is the gas shooting in the air. The smell was very strong. We were glad to leave and to return to everyone and things safely.
